The Math Book

A super condensed single page version of Harmonograph history and mathematics. (This book is filled with hundreds of super condensed math related tid-bits)

This piece of Harmonograph art is by Ivan Moscovich, a famous toy designer who created the original and fascinating pendulum drawing machine called the "Harmonograph"; distributed (formerly) by Peter Pan Toys (see Parent 3,473,229; I. Moscovich, Oct. 21, 1969).

{I think the trick to viewing this harmonographic art is to take a piece of reflective Mylar film, rap it around a toilet paper tube, and set this mirrored cylinder in the center of the drawing - and view the reflection.  I haven't tried this, please let me know if it works!}
